ONLINE – INTERNAL VIVA – VOCE
21 – 23 MAY 2020
Final year MBA students have to undertake advanced research on a topic related to one of the contemporary issues in management. A dissertation outlining the problem, including a survey of literature and the various results obtained along with their solutions is expected to be presented.
Once the report is completed as per the prescribed guidelines, the report is approved by the faculty guide. The student must submit the completed dissertation and make an oral presentation of the same. Through the dissertation, the student is expected to furnish evidence of competence in understanding varied aspects of the theme/topic selected and a deep understanding of the specialty area.
Onset of Covid-19 hampered all the supervision work related to reports. To avoid academic loss the faculty are carrying out all the academic activities through virtual modes nowadays. Emails and phone calls ensured that the process of guiding the students about the intricacies of the project goes on unhindered.
The viva –voce – internal and external marks the culmination of dissertation work. Under normal circumstances, it is a face-to-face interaction between the student and the examiner. However, the prevalent Covid-19 crisis, delayed the process due to lockdown all over India.
Ably guided by Dr. Manoj Narwade, Director, PCMRD decided to go online for the same. For the first time in PCMRD, Internal Viva –voce was conducted online thru Google Duo & Whatsapp from 21-23 May 2020. An overwhelming response was received from the students and viva-voce was successfully conducted for around 70 students, demonstrating an innate will to overcome the adverse situation prevailing in the current scenario.
As William Shakespeare has rightly said – Let me embrace thee, sour sadversity, for wise men say it is the wisest course.
